CORONA, Calif. (KABC) -- A deadly crash ended in flames and ammunition exploding along the 15 Freeway in unincorporated Corona.

Police said a 2016 Jeep Wrangler was traveling southbound on the 15 near Horsethief Canyon Road at about 9:15 p.m. Saturday when it veered onto the shoulder at De Palma Road, drove through a barbed wire fence and crashed into an embankment.

Two good Samaritans pulled the driver out of the burning car and another immediately began CPR.

The driver, later identified as 23-year-old Saul Flores, was pronounced dead at the scene.

One of the men said he only did what he could.

"I went down with my flashlight and noticed there was a guy in the car. The car was already burning in flames so I did what I could and went in there and pulled the seat belt over his head and just kind of dragged him out, and everybody else came down, this gentleman, too, to help pull him away from the car," said David Dulkis.

Boxes of ammunition were found all over the crash site. The SUV was the only vehicle involved.
