Gunfire prompts lockdown at Moreno Valley Mall
A shooting at the Moreno Valley Mall on Thursday afternoon prompted authorities to place the shopping destination on lockdown for more than an hour.

MORENO VALLEY, Calif. (KABC) -- Gunfire at the Moreno Valley Mall on Thursday afternoon prompted authorities to place the shopping destination on lockdown for more than an hour.

Officials say the incident happened around 11:40 a.m. in a bowling alley at the mall on 22500 Town Circle.

A group of men got into an argument and one pulled out a gun and fired several shots.

No one was injured, but it created a panic as the mall went on lockdown. Law enforcement and paramedics rushed to the scene prepared to possibly treat multiple victims.

No injuries were discovered and the lockdown was lifted shortly after 1:30 p.m. Many stores at the mall remained closed.

Officials were reviewing video to identify the suspects and no description was immediately available.
