Teen who recorded Pico Rivera teacher's anti-military rant invited to White House
PICO RIVERA, Calif. (KABC) -- A special invitation has been given to the local student who shot the video of a high school teacher going on an anti-military rant.
The family of Victor Quinonez has been invited to the White House by John Kelly, the chief of staff.
The 17-year-old student secretly recorded El Rancho High School teacher and Pico Rivera councilman Gregory Salcido making disparaging comments about U.S. armed forces.

Quinonez said he was berated for wearing a Marine's sweatshirt in the history class.
He also said it wasn't the first time he had been targeted by Salcido because of his desire to join the military.
"Salcido should be fired and to have his credentials taken away because I don't believe students should be hurt anymore, or be scared to go inside his classroom," he said.
The student's family consists of current and former military members, who said the school should take immediate action against Salcido.
Since that video surfaced, it went viral and prompted a heated backlash from community members, veterans and service members.
Salcido remains on paid administrative leave as the school board's investigation into the incident continues.
