Woman dies after car strikes curb, concrete pylon in Redondo Beach

REDONDO BEACH, Calif. (KABC) -- A woman is dead after a violent crash in Redondo Beach early Saturday morning.

Authorities said a car struck a curb and a concrete pylon shortly after 2 a.m. near Aviation Boulevard and Huntington Lane. Redondo Beach police officers arrived on scene within a minute of a call of the crash and discovered a vehicle on its side in the parking lot of a nearby business.

Two women and a man were transported to nearby hospitals, where one of the women died, according to Redondo Beach police.

The identities of the people involved in the wreck were being withheld until family members were notified.

The crash investigation shut down Aviation Boulevard between Grant and Ford avenues.
