SAN DIMAS, Calif. (KABC) -- A brush fire that erupted in San Dimas Wednesday morning has burned 8.6 acres, officials said.

The two-alarm fire was reported around 4 a.m. on the 2100 block of Terrebonne Avenue, near the San Dimas Canyon Golf Course. No structures were threatened.

More than 200 firefighters, backed by water-dropping helicopters, battled the flames in steep terrain. It was 65 percent contained as of 10 a.m.

The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
