BELLFLOWER, Calif. (KABC) -- Five people were injured after a car slammed into a Norwalk transit bus with passengers on board in Bellflower on Friday.

An Acura Integra driving eastbound on Somerset Boulevard crashed into the bus going southbound on Woodruff Avenue at about 6:30 p.m.

Two people in the car were injured, including one in critical condition. Three people on the bus were also injured.

Witnesses said the Acura and a Honda Civic appeared to be going about 60 miles per hour. It was unclear if they were racing each other, but the actions on the part of the Honda driver were suspect, a witness said.

"It looked like he was chasing him, not street racing," a witness said. "He (Honda driver) jumped out of his car after the accident, went to the other guy's car, went back to his car and then made the U-turn and left."

The cause of the crash was under investigation.

Police responded to a crash between a city bus and a car in Bellflower on Friday, April 17, 2015.
