RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. (KABC) -- A 7-Eleven clerk was stabbed in a robbery attempt outside a branch in Rancho Cucamonga on Sunday, authorities said.

Rancho Cucamonga police found a 45-year-old man suffering from major stab wounds at about 5:30 a.m. in the 9400 block of Baseline Road.

Detectives and a K-9 unit were sent to investigate the area. No arrests were made.

The clerk suffered major injuries and was taken to a hospital. He was listed in stable condition in an intensive care unit.

Police were searching for two suspects. The first suspect is a man in his 20s, about 5 feet 6 inches tall, thin and wearing a black hat, jacket and shoes and blue jeans. The second suspect is described as a man in his 20s, about 5 feet 8 inches tall, thin and wearing a black hat and pants, white tank top and a green backpack. He was riding a bicycle with a front tire with a white wall.
