LAGUNA WOODS, Calif. (KABC) -- The Orange County Sheriff's Department is looking for an elderly man with Alzheimer's disease who went missing over the weekend.

Sa K. Lee, 82, lives with his wife and son at the gated Laguna Woods Village. His family is desperate to find him.

"It's very terrifying. All of us are very worried. We have all the search members involved. There are lots of people trying to find him right now," said Lee's son, Johnny Lee.

His family said he walked out of the house while his wife was taking a shower at approximately 10 p.m. Saturday.

"I don't know if he went for a walk. I don't know exactly the reason why he walked out," Johnny Lee said.

He is believed to be on foot. The O.C. Sheriff's Department said deputies immediately began searching by air and ground Saturday night.

"We searched the area around the residence where he was last seen and took that out in a grid-type search for 1 to 2 miles," said Lt. Jeff Hallock with the Orange County Sheriff's Department.

Family members said Lee wandered off a year ago, but he was found quickly. He had fallen near a community gate.

Lee's family said he is shy and not one to ask for help. He also knows very little English and speaks mostly Korean.

Lee used to play golf and enjoys getting food at a nearby In-N-Out, but someone always drives him.

Lee is 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighs approximately 150 pounds and has black and gray salt and pepper hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a blue v-neck sweater, a light khaki T-shirt, pants and white sneakers.

He walks with a shuffle and did not have his wallet with him. He does not have access to a vehicle.

If you have any information about Lee's whereabouts, you're urged to contact the Orange County Sheriff's Department at (714) 647-7055.
