ABC7's Melissa MacBride takes LASD's physical test
Does ABC7 Reporter Melissa MacBride have what it takes to be a Los Angeles County sheriff's deputy?

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department is hiring and is specifically looking for more women to join.

But before they can make it to the force, aspiring female deputies must pass the same physical agility test as their male counterparts. The failure rate for a female applicant taking the test for the first time is 60 percent.

Women currently make up 18 percent of the department.

Reporter Melissa MacBride gives an inside look at what it takes to become a deputy in the report above.
