Attempted Newhall kidnapper charged with second abduction
The man who attempted to kidnap a 3-year-old girl from her Newhall home pleaded not guilty to criminal charges in a San Fernando court on Monday.

SAN FERNANDO, Calif. (KABC) -- The man who attempted to kidnap a 3-year-old girl from her Newhall home pleaded not guilty to criminal charges in a San Fernando court on Monday.

Ethan Odom, 37, was charge with kidnapping, attempted kidnapping and residential first degree burglary.

On Jan. 8, Odom allegedly grabbed the 3-year-old girl from the window and ran down the street with her. Her brother ran after them and took his sister to safety, a family member said.

Odom is also accused of attempting to kidnap a 9-year-old girl about a block away and less than an hour before kidnapping the 3-year-old. In that incident, the girl's uncle chased down Odom and retrieved her.

Odom's bail was set at $285,000. He is expected back in court on Jan. 27.
