Bicyclist fatally struck by DUI driver in Huntington Beach

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. (KABC) -- A 55-year-old male bicyclist was fatally struck by an alleged drunk driver in Huntington Beach Monday, police said.

The incident occurred near Bolsa Chica Road and Oahu Drive around 6:30 p.m.

The cyclist was transported to a local hospital after being rear-ended by a white Mercedes Benz sedan. He was later pronounced dead. His name was withheld pending notification of kin.

The suspect was arrested for driving under the influence, but could face additional charges.
