FONTANA, Calif. (KABC) -- A body believed to be that of a 27-year-old missing person from San Diego has been found in Fontana, police said Friday.

Alejandra Carrion Gutierrez was reported missing by her family on Jan. 2 after not being able to reach her since New Year's Eve.

Her vehicle was found in Fontana near the Rialto border on Saturday.

On Thursday night, detectives received information that led them to the home of 40-year-old Cesar Rosales in the 8200 block of Reseda Avenue. A search warrant was served, and a cadaver dog helped police find a body buried on the property.

Police said in a news release that Rosales "admitted to the homicide and burying the body in his yard." He has been booked at the West Valley Detention Center.

It is unclear what Rosales' connection is to Gutierrez.

Fontana police had earlier stated that the body was Gutierrez, but now they say the identity of the body has not officially been confirmed.
