STUDIO CITY, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A suspected serial burglar broke into at least 11 homes in a single day in Studio City earlier this week. Investigators are hoping to catch him before he strikes again.

Veteran detectives say they've never seen anything quite like this. The burglaries basically all took place within a matter of a few hours on Monday.

He was essentially going street to street, breaking windows and trying doors. In one case, he confronted a homeowner and then just ran away.

Some surveillance video captured him as he broke into the home.

The suspect is described as a male white or Hispanic, about 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall, 200 pounds, dark hair and a clean-cut appearance. Police say the important clue is that he walks with a limp.

The suspect was driving a late model Mazda with CarMax paper plates on it

Police say the burglar made off with about $20,000 worth of goods, electronics, jewelry and watches.

Anyone with information is urged to call the LAPD North Hollywood Police Station at (818) 754-8377.
