VENTURA, Calif. (KABC) -- Ventura Police are seeking a suspect who robbed a Burlington Coat Factory store Sunday.

The suspect entered the store at 4762 Telephone Road at about 4:17 p.m. Sunday and took a soda from a convenience refrigerator near the front cash registers, according to police.

The suspect, described as a Hispanic man in his 20s with a shaved head and a thin build, wearing a black-and-white flannel shirt and black pants, pretended to pay for the soda, but instead demanded money from the clerk at the register.

Police did not say whether the suspect threatened the clerk with a weapon.

The clerk put an undisclosed amount of money into a bag, which the suspect took, then fled the store.

Responding officers did not locate the suspect during an area search.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing. Anyone with information related to this incident is urged to call the Ventura Police Department at (805) 339-4309.
