Car chase ends when suspect crashes into South Los Angeles store

SOUTH LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A woman was hospitalized Wednesday night after crashing a stolen vehicle into a grocery store in the Florence area of South Los Angeles.

Police say they tried to stop the woman near Long Beach Avenue and 48th Place, but she refused to pull over and sped off, leading them on a short pursuit.

The chase ended when the suspect lost control, jumped the curb and crashed into a Big Saver Foods near the corner of Slauson and Compton avenues.

Paramedics transported the injured suspect to a local hospital. Her condition remains unknown. No one inside the store was hurt.
