LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Leaders from across the United States me with leaders from China in Los Angeles to sign a landmark agreement to cut emissions.

Officials met for a two-day summit to discuss ways to fight climate change. Gov. Jerry Brown, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti and other U.S. and state officials talked about reducing carbon emissions in urban planning, transportation, power plants, buildings and other areas.

The U.S. and China represent about 40 percent of the problem, according to Gov. Dannel Malloy of Connecticut. Garcetti said it comes down to the cities to limit emissions in order to make an impact on climate change.
