The Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles plans to protest Donald Trump's arrival in Los Angeles with pinatas in hand to 'show how much of a caricature [he] has become.'

Surrounded by a growing storm of controversy, presidential candidate Donald Trump will be heading to Brentwood Friday to deliver a speech at the Luxe Sunset Boulevard Hotel to a group of conservatives who go by the name of Friends of Abe.

Actor Gary Sinise helped found the group of conservatives, which reportedly includes Clint Eastwood, Kelsey Grammar and Jon Voight.

The Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles (CHIRLA) plans to protest outside of the hotel with Trump pinatas in hand.

"Latinos are not a sleeping giant. There's 55 million of us and millions of us vote," said CHIRLA director of communications Jorge-Mario Cabrera. "We're going to be having a pinata to show how much of a caricature Mr. Trump has become."

Friends of Abe tell Eyewitness News they're "not in the business of endorsing candidates or their views."

"We invited Mr. Trump for the same reason we invite all of our speakers to give our members a chance to hear from movement conservatives without the filter of the media so they can reach their own conclusions," Friends of Abe said.

Organizations and businesses have distanced themselves from Trump since he gave a presidential campaign speech that portrayed Mexican immigrants as criminals.
