CLAREMONT, Calif. (KABC) -- Claremont city leaders and residents shot a video to promote the city with the aim of boosting tourism. The production filmed in downtown is designed to sell the city as a tourist destination.

"We've got a lot of great hotels that you can come and spend the night, go to our day spas, a lot of great restaurants to come, a lot of entertainment, movies, dinner theatres so there's an awful lot that we have to offer," said Claremont Chamber of Commerce CEO Maureen Aldridge. "You don't have to go to Disneyland, just come to Claremont."

Locals and visitors say Claremont is a pretty good place to spend a day.

"I think if it's sold as a tourist place for one day, I think it's pretty good just because there are the museums and the galleries at the five colleges," Ishmam Rahman of Claremont said.

If you don't want to deal with the hustle and bustle of downtown Claremont, well just a few minutes away, there's an oasis. It's the Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden located across the street from The Claremont Colleges.

"It's amazing, it's reasonably priced, it's so peaceful, and there's so much for the kids to discover," Marcia Parga of Chino said.

City leaders will be taking their show on the road, traveling to promote the city as the perfect spot for visitors from all over.

According to the Claremont Chamber of Commerce, the downtown area can attract thousands of people on weekends. They say there's room for more.

And if you don't feel like driving, the Metrolink train stop is a short walk away from the downtown area.
