Collision shuts down Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu

MALIBU, Calif. (KABC) -- All lanes of Pacific Coast Highway were temporarily closed at Big Rock Drive in Malibu Tuesday night following a multi-car collision that left three pedestrians injured.

The incident occurred in the 20000 block of Pacific Coast Highway at about 8:15 p.m.

One of the three pedestrians was airlifted to a local hospital, according to a tweet by the California Highway Patrol West Valley Division. Two other pedestrians were transported to a local hospital with unknown injuries.

The westbound lanes of Pacific Coast Highway were reopened shortly after 9:30 p.m. Deputies were initially directing eastbound and westbound traffic to the two westbound lanes.

The eastbound lanes of Pacific Coast Highway were reopened shortly after midnight Wednesday.

The collision occurred next to a movie shoot near Big Rock Drive and Los Flores Canyon Road. The cause of the collision remains unknown.
