Couple attacked outside Pasadena Starbucks in hate crime - police

PASADENA, Calif. (KABC) -- Police are looking for a man who attacked a couple outside a Starbucks in Pasadena. The incident is being investigated as a hate crime, police said.

The incident happened Friday night at Los Robles Avenue and Colorado Boulevard. Police say without being provoked, the suspect spat on the woman and punched the man in the face.

Investigators say the attacker made a comment about the race of the victims. The woman is black and the man is of Armenian descent.
