DANA POINT, Calif. (KABC) -- A 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of arson and burglary following a commercial fire in Dana Point Sunday morning.

Firefighters responded to reports of sounds of breaking glass and a suspicious subject at the Dana Point Arts Plaza at 3:45 a.m.

Alex Espinoza, 27, of Laguna Niguel was found inside the building, holding a lighter and the building was on fire. The blaze damaged one unit of a commercial building and caused smoke damage to 10 others.

It took about 40 firefighters 30 minutes to douse the flames, which caused about $300,000 worth of damage to the structure and $150,000 worth of damage to its contents, Orange County Fire Capt. Shane Sherwood said. No injuries were reported.

Espinoza was booked into Orange County jail. He is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.
