Heading to the water for the Fourth of July is as American as barbecuing and watching fireworks. This year, however, the drought is affecting how people celebrate.

JURUPA VALLEY, Calif. (KABC) -- Heading to the water for the Fourth of July is as American as barbecuing and watching fireworks. This year, however, the drought is affecting how people celebrate.

Diamond Valley Lake and Lytle Creek, which are typically crowded for the holiday, were virtually empty.
