LA CANADA-FLINTRIDGE, Calif. (KABC) -- Investigators are trying to track down armed robbers who ransacked homes in two Southland neighborhoods, while terrorizing the homeowners.

Two armed men wearing black hoodies and carrying flashlights burst in through an unlocked back door at an elderly couple's home on Jarvis Avenue in La Canada-Flintridge around 10 p.m. Thursday.

"All of a sudden it's, 'Where's your money? Where's your jewelry? Where's your bedroom," said the female victim.

The woman says she and her husband, both in their 80s, were taken into their bedroom at gunpoint. Her husband, who suffers from dementia, was pushed around.

"They were just tearing stuff out and throwing it on the floor," she said.

The intruders demanded cash and diamonds. The suspects took silverware, jewelry and several hundred dollars cash. The biggest loss was the symbol of the couple's 64-year marriage.

"They took my engagement ring and wedding ring," said the woman.

Police say the same suspects may be responsible for a home-invasion robbery Wednesday night on Los Olivos Lane in La Crescenta. The victim was sleeping when two suspects entered the house. He woke up while he was being tied up.

The suspects took turns holding the victim at gunpoint while the other ransacked the home. The suspects left the location with an unknown amount of cash, jewelry and electronics. The victim ran to his neighbor's house for help after the suspects left.

Anyone with information about the crimes was asked to call Los Angeles Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS.
