YUCCA VALLEY, Calif. (KABC) -- San Bernardino County sheriff's deputies responded to a problem call at a business on the 58000 block of Twentynine Palms Highway at approximately 4 a.m. Tuesday.

An elderly man suffering with apparent stab wounds was pronounced dead at the scene.

A suspect identified as James Adam Webb was caught at about 9:30 a.m. in the Paradise Valley area as he attempted to flee, according to the sheriff's department.

Investigators determined the victim was possibly killed during a carjacking.

Webb was booked for murder and held at the Morongo Basin jail without bail.

The victim was not identified pending notification of next of kin.
