IRVINE, Calif. (KABC) -- Fifty years ago this week, a military aircraft took off from the old El Toro Marine Corps Air Station Base.

The C-135 war jet was bound for Vietnam with 84 military men on board, but they never made it. It slammed into Loma Ridge minutes after take-off.

No one survived.

The sons, daughters and grandchildren traveled to the crash site in the Santa Ana Mountains to honor the memory of their loved ones.
