LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- The FBI is offering $25,000 for information leading to the arrest of Henry Solis, the former Los Angeles police officer accused of fatally shooting another man in Pomona.

The 27-year-old is accused of killing Salome Rodriguez Jr. during a fight in Pomona on March 13. After the shooting, his father drove him to El Paso, Texas, just miles from the border of Mexico, to escape prosecution, according to a federal warrant.

Family and friends told investigators that Solis said he would never see them again, according to a federal affidavit.

"It's likely he's in Mexico, but it's also as likely that he could be in Texas," said Scott Garriola with the FBI Fugitive Task Force.

FBI agents say the father and anyone who helps him could face serious charges

"There's obviously statutes for aiding and abetting, obstruction of justice, lying to the FBI, lying to a police officer, those are all possibilities that we could pursue later on down the line," Garriola said.

A federal warrant for Solis' arrest has been issued. He is considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Pomona Police Department tip line at (909) 620-2085 or call a local FBI office, police department or nearest U.S. Embassy.
