Female suspect shot by Signal Hill police in Long Beach

LONG BEACH, Calif. (KABC) -- A female suspect was shot and wounded by Signal Hill police in the 1800 block of Cherry Avenue in Long Beach Tuesday.

Authorities say the incident happened at 8:16 a.m. It's unclear what led to the confrontation.

The suspect was taken to a local hospital in unknown condition. No officers were injured.
