Fire damages roof, front end of Metro PCS store in Pacoima strip mall
The roof and facade of a Metro PCS Wireless store in a Pacoima strip mall was damaged after a fire broke out while workers were fixing the roof Sunday afternoon.

PACOIMA, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- The roof and facade of a Metro PCS Wireless store in a Pacoima strip mall was damaged after a fire broke out while workers were fixing the roof Sunday afternoon.

Firefighters quickly responded to the blaze around 2:45 p.m. in the 13600 block of Van Nuys Boulevard and knocked it down within 20 minutes. No one was injured in the incident, but roofers were rescued from the area.

According to authorities, the workers were working with tar during the job and a fire somehow broke out.
