GARDEN GROVE, Calif. (KABC) -- A chemical leak forced 25 people to evacuate in Garden Grove on Wednesday night.

Firefighters responded to the 12000 block of Industry Street after an unknown substance leaked at a metals fabrication company just after 11 p.m. The substance reacted with chemicals in a 40-gallon barrel, officials said.

The leak went into the alley behind Zodiac Aerospace, forcing the evacuation of 25 employees.

No injuries were reported, and there was no threat to the environment. The cause of the leak has not been determined.

Authorities said crews monitored the leak and let it burn itself out.
