PASADENA, Texas -- A 5-year-old girl was transported to a hospital after she became stuck inside a washing machine at laundromat in Pasadena, Texas on Tuesday.

The incident happened at Le's Washeteria around 6:15 p.m. in the 2400 block of Southmore.

According to police, a woman said she was trying to use the washing machine but when it didn't work correctly, she complained to the management and they gave her money for a different machine.

As she was starting that other washer, the 5-year-old got into the machine that hadn't been working properly. When the door closed, the machine started working with the girl still inside.

Emergency personnel were called to the scene, but the laundromat owner says an employee had already turned of the circuit breakers, stopping the machine.

The girl was airlifted to a hospital as a precaution, but officials don't suspect she suffered any life threatening injuries.
