Marijuana greenhouses burn in Perris brush fire
A fire burned through about 72 acres of brush in Perris on Tuesday and spread to greenhouses containing marijuana.

PERRIS, Calif. (KABC) -- A fire burned through about 72 acres of brush in Perris on Tuesday and spread to greenhouses containing marijuana.

The fire began in the area of Mountain Avenue and McPherson Road.

Footage from AIR7HD showed the blaze spreading to a farm with two covered greenhouses growing marijuana plants. It's unclear if it was a legal or illegal grow.

Initial estimates put the fire at about 20 acres, but by 6 p.m., it was estimated at 72 acres.

Firefighters reported containing the forward spread of the flames. By 8:30 p.m., the blaze was 80 percent contained, fire officials said.

No injuries were reported.
