SILVER LAKE, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A hoax about a gunman sighting put Allessandro Elementary School on lockdown in L.A.'s Silver Lake neighborhood.

The LAPD Northeast Station received a call at about 8:15 a.m. Tuesday that two suspects wearing all black were seen entering the school with rifles.

Authorities immediately placed the school on lockdown, as officers checked the campus.

The lockdown was lifted just before 9 a.m. after police checked the area and did not find anything.
