HERMOSA BEACH, Calif. (KABC) -- A Hermosa Beach woman woke up in the middle of the night Friday to find two men claiming to be police officers robbing her home.

The suspects entered through an unlocked patio door in the 2800 block of The Strand shortly after midnight Friday. The suspects told her they were police officers, but refused to show their credentials when she asked.

They allegedly forced the woman to go with them around the house in search for valuables. They then ordered her to take off her clothes and forced her into a bathroom, while they escaped with jewelry and cash.

Police said the suspects were scared off by a neighbor's burglar alarm. The other home had been ransacked while the neighbor was not home.

A witness told police that a man dressed in black fled the location around the time an alarm sounded.

Both incidents may be linked to two other burglaries in the 1900 block of The Strand that were reported on Sunday. In both cases, jewelry, personal items and a safe were stolen.

Anyone with information is asked to call Det. Sergeant Dorothy Scheid at (310)318-0330.
