HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Los Angeles police are searching Saturday for a suspect who allegedly shot at two people during an attempted robbery, killing one, outside a Hollywood home.

The shooting occurred at about 3:10 a.m. outside a home near Rosewood Avenue and Heliotrope Drive. One of the victims who was shot at escaped without getting hit and called 911.

The second victim, identified as Alexander Garcia, 38, was shot multiple times and pronounced dead at the scene. LAPD officials believe the suspect and Garcia struggled over the gun.
