Inglewood police shot and wounded a male suspect after a drive-by shooting left one person injured early Monday morning.

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (KABC) -- Inglewood police shot and wounded a male suspect after a drive-by shooting left one person injured early Monday morning.

Officers say they heard gunshots around 1 a.m. in the 900 block of Ash Street. According to investigators, one person was shot and wounded in a drive-by shooting in the area. The victim was said to be in critical but stable condition.

When police arrived, they found suspects running from the scene. That's when the officer-involved shooting occurred. One male suspect was shot and wounded. He is said to be in critical condition.

It's unknown if the suspect fired a weapon at officers.

Three people were detained, including one female. A perimeter was established, but police said they are no longer searching for additional suspects.

No officers were injured during the incident, which remains under investigation.
