INGLEWOOD, Calif. (KABC) -- Inglewood Mayor James Butts is dismissing rumors that there are multiple other cases like the murder of Robert Hollis, who was found decapitated in his apartment.

Hollis' headless body was found in the 800 block of Glenway Drive on June 18, and very little information has been released on the gruesome homicide.

There were rumors swirling that investigators were looking into 13 similar homicide cases.

"That's actually an urban legend that started on Facebook," Butts said, adding that there have been five homicides in Inglewood so far this year.

"This is our lowest rate of homicides in the history of the city," he said. "

The city of Inglewood is offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in Hollis' murder.

Norma Hollis said her 75-year-old husband had tunnel vision in his left eye and was not able to see people around him very well.
