NEW YORK (KABC) -- Joan Rivers remains on life support after going into cardiac arrest last week, her family said Tuesday.

"On behalf of my mother and our family, we are extremely grateful for all the love and support we've received," daughter Melissa Rivers said in a statement. "I know my mother would be overwhelmed by the continued outpouring of kindness and I want to thank everyone for keeping us in their prayers."

Joan Rivers, 81, was rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City last Thursday after she went into cardiac arrest during a procedure at a doctor's office.

Rivers is the host of "Fashion Police" on E! and presides over an online talk show, "In Bed With Joan." She also co-stars with her daughter on the WEtv reality show "Joan & Melissa: Joan Knows Best?"
