LA County sheriff's deputy injured in 14 Freeway crash

ACTON, Calif. (KABC) -- A Los Angeles County sheriff's deputy had a rollover accident Monday morning on the 14 Freeway near Palmdale after taking an inmate to a regional detention facility.

The deputy was headed back to the Palmdale station when she had the accident, which was reported at about 4:30 a.m. near Santiago Road.

She was conscious and speaking when transported to a hospital, a Palmdale sheriff's deputy said. She received minor to moderate injuries. No one else was hurt.

A Sig Alert was temporarily issued for the Santiago Road on-ramp and off-ramp on the northbound 14 Freeway.

The cause of the crash was under investigation.
