Los Angeles Valley College has been issued an all-clear after a bomb squad investigated a suspicious package that triggered a campus evacuation.

The school's classes remain canceled for the rest of Wednesday and will not resume until April 11 because of spring break and the Cesar Chavez holiday, school officials said.

A bomb squad used a remote robot to investigate an unattended package Wednesday afternoon. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said there is no credible threat now.

Earlier in the day, students were sent a message informing them of threats and asking them to leave the campus.

"The campus is being evacuated," the note said. "Please leave the campus immediately and calmly. This is not a drill."

The note also asked anyone who sees suspicious activity to contact the LAVC Sheriff's Office at (818)947-2911.
