Large blaze damages building in Athens

ATHENS, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A large fire broke out in a commercial building in Athens early Thursday morning.

The blaze was reported around 3 a.m. in the 100 block of West 131st Street. Firefighters knocked it down three hours later.

The building housed several businesses inside and overnight workers were evacuated. None of the workers sustained injuries, but a firefighter was hurt. The extent of his injuries was unknown.

An investigation into the cause of the fire was underway.
