LONG BEACH, Calif. (KABC) -- A barricade situation that started Monday night in Long Beach finally ended hours later with four people taken into custody, officials said.

The incident started around 9 p.m. Monday on Adriatic Avenue and Spring Street, and ended around 7:00 a.m. Tuesday.

Officials say a detective unit from the sheriff's department responded to the scene to serve search warrants in connection to stolen vehicles from the Longo Toyota lot in El Monte last week. Multiple people inside the home refused to come out, prompting a standoff.

Footage from AIR7 HD showed at least four people coming out of the home with their hands in the air Tuesday morning. They were taken into custody on auto theft-related charges.

The investigation was a joint operation between Long Beach police and the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. Investigators say one of the vehicles has been recovered.
