BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (KABC) -- A male subject was stabbed in a fight in the rear of a bus in Beverly Hills Wednesday night, and one suspect was arrested after fleeing on foot.

The MTA 720 bus line was traveling eastbound on Wilshire Boulevard approaching Whittier Avenue in Beverly Hills when the fight broke out at about 6:03 p.m., according to MTA spokesman Paul Gonzales.

The bus operator stopped the bus and multiple suspects exited and fled on foot. The victim reportedly chased after the suspects.

At least one suspect was chased down by police officers and apprehended on the 9800 block of Wilshire.

The condition of the victim was not immediately known.

A female passenger on the bus was treated for a bump on the head.

The L.A. County Sheriff's Department was investigating the incident.
