ACTON, Calif. (KABC) -- A suspected drunk driver is behind bars Sunday morning after allegedly fatally running over a motorcyclist in Acton.

The crash happened shortly before 6 p.m. Saturday night on Soledad Canyon Road near Aliso Canyon Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

For reasons not yet known, CHP officials said the Harley Davidson traveled westbound and crossed into the eastbound lane directly in front of a GMC Sierra. The two vehicles collided head-on, and the motorcyclist was ejected.

The 66-year-old victim died instantly.

Investigators said the driver of the pick-up tried to leave the scene, but only made it about half a mile before the truck broke down.

Officers arrested the suspect, identified as 56-year-old Bradly Russell Mcloed, on suspicion of DUI and for leaving the scene of the accident.
