OXNARD, Calif. (KABC) -- A man and his girlfriend were arrested in Oxnard after police say they found about 3 pounds of meth in their car and home.

Police said they had been investigating Francisco Amaya Parra, 35, for six months and had a search warrant. He was pulled over Friday after officers spotted him driving in the area of Auto Center Drive and Los Olivos.

According to police, over 2 pounds of methamphetamine were found in Parra's car. Police also served a search warrant at his home and found an additional pound of meth and a large amount of money. Police also learned two children were living at the home, and Children and Family Services were called to the scene.

Parra was booked at Ventura County Jail for possession for sales and transportation of meth. His girlfriend, Zoila Cervantes, 35, was also arrested for conspiracy to distribute dangerous narcotics and child endangerment.
