Police are looking for a hit-and-run driver who killed a man on a wheelchair in Fullerton.

FULLERTON, Calif. (KABC) -- Police are looking for a hit-and-run driver who killed a man on a wheelchair in Fullerton.

The crash happened around 11:58 p.m. Monday on the 2600 block of West Orangethorpe Avenue.

Investigators say the victim was not in a crosswalk at the time of the crash. The victim's wheelchair ended up in the middle of the street, and his body was thrown about 150 feet from the impact site.

Police say the victim, only identified as a man in his 60s, died at the scene.

The suspect's car is described as a Ford SUV, possibly an Expedition or Explorer, with front-end damage.

Orangethorpe was closed in both directions between Magnolia Avenue and Gilbert Street during the investigation.
