Man killed after crashing into crane in West Hollywood

WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (KABC) -- A man was killed after crashing his vehicle into a crane in West Hollywood early Monday morning, sheriff's deputies said.

The crash occurred on Sunset Boulevard between Olive Drive and Sweetzer Avenue at about 4:20 a.m.

The victim was transported to a local hospital in extremely critical condition, but later succumbed to his injuries. He was the only occupant of the vehicle.

Sunset Boulevard was temporarily closed in the area, but reopened around 9 a.m.
