Man shot to death in Lancaster, deputies say

LANCASTER, Calif. (KABC) -- Detectives were investigating the circumstances surrounding a man being shot to death in Lancaster on Monday.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said they responded to a call of shots fired in the 44000 block of Gingham Avenue at about 11 p.m.

When authorities arrived at the scene, they spotted a trail of blood leading into the backyard of a home.

Deputies followed the trail and found an unconscious man who had been shot multiple times.

The man was rushed to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Deputies did not provide a suspect description or any other information about the shooting.
