Man dies after being stabbed during altercation in Harbor City

HARBOR CITY, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A man was stabbed to death during an altercation in Harbor City, and police are hunting for a suspect.

Joseph Ruiz, 23, died after being stabbed Saturday in the 21000 block of Halldale Avenue, police said. According to police, Ruiz and the suspect got in an argument that escalated into a fight. That's when Ruiz was stabbed with a knife. The suspect then fled.

Firefighters responded to the scene and transported Ruiz to a hospital, where he died a short time later from his injuries.

Authorities did not provide a suspect description.
