WATTS, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Los Angeles County sheriff's officials were investigating a fatal stabbing on a Metro Green Line platform in the Watts area early Friday morning.

Deputies found a man with stab wounds in the 11600 block of Avalon Boulevard just before 10 p.m., officials said.

The victim, who was not identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Homicide detectives had little information on a suspect and said they were looking into surveillance video to help catch the attacker.

"We have cameras up on the passenger stations, and we have some cameras down here, and that's all going to be in process right now by homicide," said Lt. Barry Shapiro of the LASD.

Officials said a motive in the stabbing was not yet clear.

Green Line trains were not stopping at the Avalon station due to police activity, Metro officials stated on Twitter.
