MISSISSIPPI (KABC) -- KFC says two investigations found no evidence that a 3-year-old Mississippi girl mauled by a pit bull was asked to leave a restaurant because her facial scarring was disturbing customers.

Her grandmother claimed that earlier this month they were told to leave a KFC because the girl's appearance was upsetting customers.

Then came a newspaper report that the story was fabricated to raise money for the girl's medical bills. The family raised $135,000 for the girl's medical bills.

KFC said it will stand by its pledge to donate $30,000 for the girl's medical bills. The family insists the story is not a hoax on a Facebook page that has since been deleted.
